Lyric extender

Hi all,

 I am trying to typeset a song and there are two levels of lyrics
where one runs faster and the other slower such that in a single
measure you have a word on a whole not in one voice and in an other
voice you have several words on several notes. The thing i am trying
to accomplish is to get a lyric hyphen extend for the duration of the
whole note to emphasize for clarity that the singers are to carry the
word through the measure.  I tried the set melismaBusyproperty and
that works but then it messes up following instances where there are
longer tied notes with single words. How does one properly unset the
melismaBusy property? or is there a simpler method I am over looking?
