For some reason it produces a exact copy of the input file:

$ lua -v
Lua 5.2.1  Copyright (C) 1994-2012 Lua.org, PUC-Rio
$ lua ~/panning.lua 2b_choer.midi zz.midi
2b_choer.midi   zz.midi
$ lsl 2b_choer.midi zz.midi

$ md5sum 2b_choer.midi zz.midi
