This works with 2.17.21. The syntax for \shape changed between 2.16 and
2.17, so for 2.16 you need to comment or remove the first \shape line
and uncomment the second (not tested as I don't have 2.16 installed, but
I think it's correct)...
\shape doesn't seem to be documented for 2.16, but see
http://www.lilypond.org/doc/v2.17/Documentation/notation/modifying-shapes.
