Weird spacing between top staff and lyrics.

Can anyone explain possible causes of the basic/min dist value between the treble staff and the first line of lyrics on the attached output? I'm trying to minimize the spacing (and have the top of the first system forced against the top margin and bottom of the last system forced against the bottom margin) so that it can handle two lines of lyrics with two systems per page without reducing the font any further.
