I often call them Improved Environments. They are not only to edit,
but to compile, view PDF and P&C.
I think Alternate Input is wrong because one expects to find something
different to text input. At the end, an improved text input or
environment is still text input. Also, remember that LilyPond is
better in part thanks to its text input, which is a strong point when
you get used, not a weakness.
