From this you would expect
\set Score.voltaSpannerDuration = #(ly:make-moment 7 8)
to work, but it doesn't.
It seems the bracket is hung between barlines
(something this snippet doesn't mention),
so it only works if you arrange for a
\bar ""
to occur at that specified moment.
But it is simpler to do something similar using a manual command:
\alternative {
c1
<< c1 { s2.. \set Score.repeatCommands = #'((volta #f)) } >>
}
