No, I had not deleted old versions but had stored them in a separate directory.
How can I test 2.13.4 but also keep an older version to work with?
For now I deleted all my old versions and installed 2.13.4.0 darwin-ppc (with
darwin-x86 I still get bus errors even though I have an MacOS X intel). Now I
can run lilypond from the command-line again.

Just to make sure: the directories I'm supposed to delete should be in
/Users/username and they are invisible? I deleted 3 files/directories:
.fontconfig .fonts.cache-1 .lilypond-fonts.cache-2
When I run lily2image I get the following messages:
patrick-schmidts-computer:~ PLS$ lily2image -r=72 -f=png
/Users/PLS/Music/LilyPond/Test/Minimalbeispiele/tie.ly
Output format is png...

pngtopnm tie.png > tie.pnm

ppmtopng tie-cropped.pnm
/Users/PLS/bin/lily2image: line 626: ppmtopng: command not found
ppmtopng failed converting to final output - lily2image aborting.
Isn't ppmtopng part of netpbm (I have netpbm version 10.26.61)? I didn't find
ppmtopng on my machine. What do I have to do about the warning? (I can run
lily2image with -f=jpeg)
I also tried to build documentation. I didn't get a bus error any more, but
basically the same warnings as above. Even though a lot of image conversions
took place my out-www directory still remains empty.
Cheers,
patrick
