Bertalan said I should install 4.3pre16, so I tried that, but I couldn't see a version for Ubuntu, so I picked the Java version, and although it said it installed it, I couldn't find any change in the version when I fired it up.  Still 4.3pre13.  Anybody any ideas how to install the latest on Ubuntu?

I had the same problem.  Couldn't find the plugin on the Ubuntu side. It's not a big deal to me since I don't use JEdit but I was trying to show it to one of my students.  It worked on Windows so I just showed her on that side.
