thanks to all!
I am using windows xp and Java and a machine with enough memory. I found
a Ramdisk (Gavotte). I have not yet tested the response times launching
Lilypond from Java. I hope with some clever programming I will be less
dependent on realtime issues.
With a quick glance to ABC I think it is not complex enough.
