How to Update Syntax to 2.11.61

Subject:	How to Update Syntax to 2.11.61

When I attempt to update my syntax on Mac OX with Lilypond 2.11.61 Iam getting a request to update my python. I have download andinstalled the latest version. Yet, the installer is installingpython 2.6 in my /usr/local/bin. The Convert app is not seeing thepython 2.6. How do I get it to use python 2.6?
