Hi Herman

There is no 'main program' as such.  You need to prepare a
file in lilypond format using a basic text editor like
Notepad and save it with a .ly file extension.  Then
double-clicking on this file will compile it and produce the
output files in the same directory.

But the very first step is to read the Tutorial section in
the manual (if you have downloaded release 2.10) or, even
better, read the early chapters of the Learning Manual which
is part of Release 2.11.  These can be found on the
lilypond.org website.
