syntax of numeric variables

Hi,

In the following code:

 

before = 14

after = 10

\markup { \with-dimensions #'(0 . 0) #'(-10 . 14) AZERTY }

 

I would like to use the variables in the markup, instead of hardcoded numbers.

I tried multiple combinations of # ' , ` ... prefixes, but I can't get it to work.

What is the correct syntax ?
