Hello Adam,

i realize that i must go deeper into the reason why i said it would be great if lilypond could support turkish music notation:

i am playing baglama (some lute like instrument) since 15 years now and since then it was a mess to put the music i am playing on paper. Notational differences (to the "western" way) in some points are the reason why standard "drag and drop" tools like Finale or Sibelius are not satisfiable ->

One thing i was trying to write in one of my earlier posts was the fact that the music i am playing uses notes that dont exist in western music (its not what is known as ottoman music or classical turkish music, its simple turkish-folk-music i am doing) and at some points special notation is necessary, for example between the notes C and C# there exists one more note in turkish-folk-music which would have a "2" over the # to indicate to take the second C#, which is actually a little bit deeper then C#. The question "how much deeper?" is not necessary at this point. Its only the notation which is important.

In Berlin there is a music school of my teacher called "Deutsch Türkische Musikakademie" where ottoman music, classical turkish music and turkish-folk-music is taught. The problems from above are known there too and it would be great if there would be some tool that would support everything that has to do with turkish music notation.

One (maybe) bad thing about lilypond is that everything has to written by hand just like a programer would do. Mainly the people i know would find it great if there would be some frontend or something that would make it easier for them to use lilypond without having to "program" everything.

greetings.
