Problems running Lilypond

I tried Lilypond 2.7.10 for the first time today. I got this message back.

GNU Lilypond 2.7.10
ERROR: In procedure primitive-load-path:
ERROR: Unable to find file "ice-9/boot-9.scm in load path

I did a locate

address@hidden:~$ locate ice-9/boot-9.scm
/usr/share/guile/1.6/ice-9/boot-9.scm
/usr2/share/guile/1.6/ice-9/boot-9.scm
/var/packages/@lilypond.org/lilypond:2.7.10/backup/usr/share/guile/1.6\
/ice-9/boot-9.scm


 Now how do I tell Lilypond where to find the file?

I am on Ubuntu 5.04 if that helps.
