Hi. I've downloaded the version for windows, and clicked on the iconproduced on my desktop. I get a sort of short tutorial, which I want toskip and get onto the actual program. How do I begin it?
All you do is type stuff, and run it through the program afterward. There's no windows or menus to get the feel of. If you don't go through the tutorial, you won't have a clue, unfortunately. It's not hard - just the tutorial is pretty much the only way to get there.
But you can go to http://www.mutopiaproject.org/ and see some examples. Make sure you get examples that were made with something close to the latest version of Lilypond - anything done by version 1.x is definitely too old for use as an example of how to write Lilypond code now.
It's fun! Happy tutorial to you! David
