Missaligned staffs in PDF output from lilypond 2.7.7

Hello:

I'm having trouble with the alignment and line breaking (\break) with
lilypond-book.

I have a bunch of lilypond snippets that are part of a lytex book for my
students. Up to version 2.4.5
of lilypond there was no problem. Now, with 2.6.0 or 2.7.7, the pdf
output does not produce the proper
line breaks. They appear as a continuation of the same line. When using
lilypond on the snippet the
output is fine.

I'm using lilypond version 2.7.7 in a fedora core 4 machine. I installed
ghostscript 8.15 plus the compat libs.

Is there some environment stuff I have not done which needs to be done?
