Barline thickness, dashed barline

Thank for helping me out those questions:

1-I want to make barlines somewhat thinner,
\override Barline #'thickness = #3.0 (and other values, put inside a layout
block) didn't worked..

2-I want to have another look for the dashed barline:
\bar ":"
I'd rather prefer a slimmer looking dashed line instead of dots..
