Fwd: Umm.. how to stop note stems merging?

Hi,

I was unable to find help with this in the documentation. I have a problem where
a 4th note is merging with ann 8th note. Why does this happen, is there a way to
stop it? Here is my example:

{ \key c \major \time 4/4
<< { <c'>2 } { b'8 b'8 f'4~ } >>
}
\version "2.6.0"
