I have just installed, under the very able guidance of Graham Percival, version 2.5.29 on my FreeBSD 5.3 system. Now, when I try to run it, the program won't launch, nor will it convert-ly. What am I missing here? I'm thinking it might be that the program was installed (at Graham's suggestion) in /usr/src/ instead of some other directory, as when a program is installed by ports. I did uninstall the port version (2.2.2) and run the gmake install, etc. per the instructions. This is from the xterm where I run it:

I don't think it was installed in /usr/src; it was unzipped there.

I can't remember if I told you that the "gmake install" needed to be run as root -- either su to root and run "gmake install", or (if it's set up) run "sudo gmake install". When you do that, look at the messages -- they should be about installing stuff in
/usr/local/STUFF (ie /usr/local/bin, /usr/local/share, etc)

If that still doesn't work, then do "set | grep PATH". In PATH=blahblah, you should see /usr/local/bin. If not, you'll need to figure out how to add /usr/local/bin to your path.

Cheers,
- Graham
