It occurs only on Windows 98 and not on Win2000 neither on XP.
So if your friends don't use Win98 I think you can recommend them 2.2.

Yes, that's traditional. Anyway I'm thinking of including tetex-base in the
default lilypond installation set instead of tetex-tiny.
