Yes, you have to put spacing grace notes in the other parts that don't
have the grace notes.  It's a nuisance, but it works.

e.g., if you have a part that starts: 

      \grace {    d''8  }   cis''8.

in the other parts you put lines like:

   \grace{s8}    r8
