It's not hard:
1) Go to www.lilypond.org
2) Click on "manual"
3) Search (probably ctrl-f in your browser) for "skip".
(one piece of info that isn't in the manual (yet) is that you can multiply
skips -- ie s1*8 will skip eight whole notes)
