Re: 1.5.73, Unbound variable: generic-staff-properties

This bug has been reported several times in the 
bug-lilypond mailing list and has been solved 
in the CVS repository. Upgrade to the latest
version from CVS, wait for 1.5.74 or downgrade
to 1.5.72 for the moment.
