The original idea for a name was "minimum-length". Then there was a
lengthy (no pun intended) discussion, because it's different from what
happens at hairpins, leading to "collapse-length".
While I understand the width/length reasoning from a programming point
of view. In the score, I would still call it a length of an extender
line and not a width. Because a line width is sth. different. (Native
speakers please correct me.)
