zero fret should not be allowed.  That's what restrainOpenStrings
means.

No, it isn't.  Then it would be "forbidOpenStrings".  Please see the
original discussion.  Open strings are merely restrained to the same
level as normal frets are.  In particular, they obey minimumFret
