Just one comment about this...
I see that annotated-demo.svg is not used anywhere. Do we want to use
this file? If so, it should be regenerated with LilyPond's latest SVG
output. (I am willing to do this).

We could resize the SVG images. Would that be okay? Then we could
easily convert them to PNG with imagemagick.
