In NR 2.1.2, under Repeats with alternative endings, it is suggested that  
the same structure can be used with both notes and lyrics.  This has the  
advantage of expanding correctly when \unfoldRepeats is used.  However,  
this technique fails if the alternative endings begin with a rest, causing  
multiple volta brackets to be created.

Fixing this in the code base would require an interface for handling  
repeats in lyrics to be defined and implemented.  This is not likely to be  
done in the foreseeable future, so this issue is a request to insert a  
warning in the NR about the effect of rests in \alternative's.
