Alternative names like "non-empty" and "stackable" are not so immediately obvious or so easily explained.
But if we want to introduce complete consistency we have to accommodate empty, half-empty and non-empty stencils in the nomenclature. A "stackable stencil" could mean a stencil that is neither empty nor half-empty, with the terms "X-stackable" and "Y-stackable" including the corresponding half-empty ones. These might be useful concepts within the development community, but would not be appropriate for exposure to most end-users.
