Is this a rerequest for issue 2931?  I actually don't have a good idea how  
to convert this reasonably robustly otherwise.  One can convert back into ]  
but then there probably was a lexer-dependent reason (namely, not being in  
music mode or related) to write \bracketCloseSymbol in the first place?
