I use minimum-Y/Y-extent in general to request extra space just where I  
need it:

or when I need to define a core size of something that doesn't have a  
stencil yet

If there is another way to solve the problems above, we can get rid of the
minimum-*-extents (Janek started to do so with issue 2609).
