That would correct the grammatical error, but not the really, really  
condescending undertone: this is something like "If you can't reproduce a  
bug with your minimal example, the problem is more likely an insufficient  
grasp of LilyPond rather than an actual bug.", only worse (I actually am  
somewhat at a loss how to express the amount of sneering in the German  
version in English).

I don't know what the English version is, but this should become rather  
something like

"Ist das Fehlersymptom im Minimalbeispiel nicht zu reproduzieren, wird die  
Fehlerursache eine andere als die zunächst vermutete sein."
