This removal of flags which libtool does not recognize seems to be
annoying many people.
How about in libtool.m4 when doing the platform/compiler checks etc
having a couple of new vars
_LT_AC_TAGVAR(pass_through_flags,$1)='foo bar'
_LT_AC_TAGVAR(pass_through_flags_1_arg,$1)='fooX barX'
ltmain could check if the arg is in one of those vars and pass it
through unaltered (plus the next arg too, if in the _1_arg var).
Alternative:
just pass all unknown args through.
Thoughts?
