HEAD seems to have this fixed:
-L[A-Z][A-Z]*:*)
case $with_gcc/$host in
no/*-*-irix* | /*-*-irix*)
I think the note above is correct though and we could get away with:
-L[A-Z][A-Z]*:*)
case $with_gcc/$host in
/*-*-irix*)
