Haven't had time to test this yet (and might not for a while), but a
quick comment:  I think `AT_*' is (or should be) reserved namespace for
autotest, although I can't find a statement for this in Autoconf docs
right now.  What about using s/AT_/ATX_/ or something else instead?
The issue is not a very high-profile one, but better to be safe than
sorry later (I can make a patch sometime later).
