You missed some now-undefined MKDIR_P in config/ltmain.in
leading to interesting test failures.

.. except that, if you were to replace the one in func_mode_install to
use your func_mkdir_p, there'd be a security incident waiting to happen.

Having embarrassed myself a couple of times in my early days as a GNU maintainer I almost never commit without running the testsuite, so I'm not sure how I let that slip through! Anyhow, thanks for the heads up... patch on its way -- when the testsuite has finished ;*)
