=================== BUG #2446: LATEST MODIFICATIONS ==================

Changes by: Paul Hoepfner-Homme <address@hidden>

------------------ Additional Follow-up Comments ----------------------------
Well, I just realized that if I changed the shortcut key for the "Break"
command to CTRL+C, then CTRL+C _does_ cancel the unmerge. But by default, the
"Break" command is set to CTRL+X.
I suggest you change the default shortcut key for "Break" from CTRL+X to CTRL+C
so it is consisdent with the output from emerge.
=================== BUG #2446: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================
Submitted by: vtowel Project: KPortage
Submitted on: 2003-Feb-02 16:15
Category: None Severity: 5 - Major
Bug Group: None Resolution: None
Assigned to: None Originator Email: address@hidden
Status: Open
Summary: CTRL+C does not cancel unmerge, despite message that is displayed
Original Submission: KPortage does not send a user's CTRL+C signal to emerge
when the user wants to cancel an unmerge, clean, or depclean. Nevertheless,
KPortage displays "Press CTRL+C to abort" right as it is about to unmerge the
package. Either suppress this message from emerge or have the window capture
the CTRL+C sequence and subsequently interrupt the emerge process.

Well, geez, man, how on earth was I supposed to know that?! :) Anyway, thanks,
it finally worked.
So I tested that CTRL+C when unmerging a package, and it didn't work. I pressed
CTRL+C repeatedly, clicked in the Ouptut window and pressed it more, but
nothing happened. So it appears that this is still a bug.

you've to create a /usr/local/portage/app-admin/kportage/ dir and download
kportage-5.ebuild to /usr/loca/portage/app-admin/kportage-kportage-5.ebuild. :)

Man, this is really difficult. I did as you said. I created /usr/local/portage
and defined PORTDIR_OVERLAY in /etc/make.conf correspondingly. Then I
downloaded your ebuild into /usr/local/portage. Then I did "emerge kportage",
and emerge proceeds to emerge kportage-0.6.
What am I doing wrong??

you can also get http://www.nongnu.org/kportage/kportage-5.ebuild,
out this into your PORTDIR_OVERLAY and do a emerge kportage.
this ebuild will check out cvs and install kportage from cvs.

"make -f Makefile.dist" will create a new ./configure

I checked out CVS, but I don't understand how to build it. The instructions say
to run ./configure, but it does not exist. Please help.

Can you try current cvs and report whether this bug is still there?
I think we fixed it allready.
