Thanks for your response Olivier.  I am indeed running on a 64 bit system and these are the libns* files that I have in my /home/jail/lib64/ directory:

libnsl-2.3.4.so
libnsl.so.1
libnsl.so.2

What am I missing?

Regards,
James

Hi Folks,
I'm hoping someone on this list can help me. This is the second time
I've installed jailkit and it seems like I'm running into a whole new
set of problems. I've got through most of them but there is one that is
still preventing me from setting up an sftp connection using a jail
user. I have a jailed user "dropboxDEV" (uid=505) and I'm trying to
test my sftp connecting using the following command:

sftp address@hidden

The connection aborts immediately after login. My sys log says the
following:

Jan 13 21:30:23 147938-app1 sshd(pam_unix)[9736]: session opened for
user dropboxDEV by (uid=0)
Jan 13 21:30:23 147938-app1 jk_chrootsh[9741]: now entering jail
/home/jail for user dropboxDEV (505)
Jan 14 03:30:23 147938-app1 jk_lsh[9741]: jk_lsh version 2.3, started
Jan 14 03:30:23 147938-app1 jk_lsh[9741]: cannot find user name for uid
505: Success

this time reply to the list:

possibly you are on a 64bit system and not all 64bit libnss* libraries
are in the jail?

you can also remove the /home/jail/etc/passwd file and run jk_jailuser
another time to reinstall it.

regards,
	Olivier
