in my .gnus
(setq gnus-summary-show-article-charset-alist
'((12 . windows-1252)
(437 . cp437)
(850 . cp850)
(0 . iso-8859-15)
(9 . iso-8859-15)
(1 . iso-8859-1)
(23 . gb2312)
(8 . utf-8)))
Then I can read the article with "23 g".
