Maybe during tinkering, your cache got corrupted.  Try 'rm -rf
~/News/agent/nnimap/GMX/' (it is OK to run it even when Gnus is
running, AFAIK) and see if the problem disappear.  It sounds as if
Gnus is trying to delete an article that has already been deleted on
the server.
