For KDE1 (I know it is old) I have;
kvt -caption "%c" \
xboard -ics -icshelper /usr/local/bin/timeseal -autoflag -queen
- -icshost freechess.org
Defined as an action for a panel item.
Xboard is from http://www.tim-mann.org/ and timeseal from
http://www.freechess.org/
You have a choice of interfaces, but xboard is probably the
easiest to get started with. "autoflag" and "queen" (always
queen on promote) are obviously user preferences, just most of
the time you want a queen and you want it quick, you can switch
it off for the few times when another piece is required.
The quickest way to play is "telnet freechess.org" in a terminal
window, but probably only useful if you are visually impaired.
