I have NOT tested the following using CVS as the target point-of-failure,
but...
With other products in the past I have sometimes been able to induce the
noted behavior by temporarily renaming a critical component of the targeted
application (a parameter file or called procedure, for instance - something
that doesn't get auto-rebuilt or have default values when missing...)
Respectfully.

Subject: CVS testing
Hi,
I am looking into testing what happens if CVS is down and tests are trying
to run on a machine CVS is on. How can I simulate CVS going down and then
running a test on the specific machine to see what happens? In our team it
has been set that an email is sent out to say CVS has crashed but I am not
sure how to test this to see if the email is sent. Anyone any ideas??
Thanks,
Rory Campbell
