Graphing the Overall CVS Structure

I am working on a project to graphically display the overall branching
structure of our cvs system.

I was curious if anyone has done a project similar to this, where they
had to compare branching structures across multiple files and merge the
information to come up with one large structure.

Has anyone found out a way to do these comparisons while taking into
account the inconsistencies of revision numbers and dates bewtween
files?
