home directory appears to be /home/cvsroot/MessageSyncServer

the user is not a member of the default "users" group, and therefore has 
access to pretty much nothing on the server apart from that folder. he 
can't log in through telnet or ssh, for example. should this be necessary?

(cvs authentication is pserver, in case that isn't already obvious)
