CVS statistics

Hi,

I wonder if there are tools/scripts arround to extract statistics from the
CVS history log. I have the logging active and would like to get the amount
of CVS actions expressed for each (group) of users and as a function of
time.
Can anyone point me how I can interpret the date string into a usefull
date/time format to extract this kind of statistics ?
