Rollback and how to get earlier versions of a file

Hi All,
   Iam very new to CVS and iam trying to understand the functionality as a whole.I need your help
for

1.How to get earlier versions of the files than my current one.
2.How to use Rollback.

My problem is say iam working with a file whose version is 1.6 How to get back
and look in any of the earlier versions.If I want to look in the file of Version 1.5
or Version1.4 how to get the file as a whole.Does this tool support Rollback
if so how is it feasible.
