Well, first off I guess I should restrict my response to those languages
I can actually write in -- not just those I know only well enough to read.

Of existing non-hybrid languages I like Smalltalk best I think, though C
is also a strong favourite, but for different reasons.  Both are
pure-bred in the hereditary sense, though smalltalk is of course the
real "original" of the pair.

I really like lisp and its variants too (not so much scheme, but there's
much to appreciate in the minimalism of scheme, as opposed to say full
Common Lisp, so in some senses I'd have to say scheme is better bred
than lisp! ;-).  Depending on my point of view at a given time I might
say Emacs lisp isn't as well bred as Common Lisp, but at their true core
they are very much both lisp.

Ruby, which is very much a hybrid, is a new favourite scripting
language, but I still like the simplicity and power of AWK, which is
also quite a hybrid of sorts.
