Yes, there are two POVs here:

1. CVS is perfect for the things it's suited to do. 
Instead of changing it, find another tool.
2. CVS is lacking in some features that are highly
demanded.  It should be fixed if possible.

Luckily, some have started creating new tools with the
lessons learned from CVS.
