Yup, it's quite simple.

The only tricky bit about what you want to do is having two working
directories. CVS handles this fine, but if the human using CVS forgets which
working directory has the most recent copy of the revised API for the
database backend (or whatever), the human may end up committing the wrong
file and breaking the source tree of the project he or she is working on.

I have two working directories for my homepage, and I am the only one
working on it, but I still screw it up at times. You should only use two
working directories if this risk is acceptable to you.

(You said you have a laptop so why would you need two work directories?)
