Nope, not really.  Besides, your issue is with the 'patch' program, not
with CVS.

The best CVS can do is allow you to incrementally commit parts of the
change so that subsequently you can generate incremental diffs...  :-)

Yup, so goes the life of a code maintainer....

Note that asking the person who sent you the diff to do that grunge work
isn't very polite either -- they've already volunteered the changes.
Askin them to do work soely for your mostly personal benefit is asking
too much.

It's your responsiblity to deal with the offered changes in the way you
find necessary.  You could just apply them whole-hog and check them in
as one change -- that's easy, no?  Why do you think you need to split
them up?
