cvs [server aborted]: "commit" requires write access to the repository ???

Hi,

I don't understand what appends !
I declared in cvs passwd file two users :
cvswriter:xxxxx
toto:xxxxx:cvswriter

When I login with cvswriter user, all work fine
When I login with toto user, I can do checkout and update, but no commit
!

I don't understand why write access aren't good because user system is
the same in both case : cvswriter !!!

Some one has an idea ?

- I use cvs 1.11.1p1 for client and server
- I run them on linux
